Andre Dubus III – Advice for Writers

Andre Dubus III

Saw Andre Dubus III at Lighthouse Writers Workshop on 2/13/12

Today, I was lucky enough to be a participant in a craft workshop with writer, Andre Dubus III. His memoir, Townie, and his fiction works, including the House of Sand and Fog, are among the most engaging I’ve read.

At the end of the workshop, I asked him for his best advice for students who are beginning writers or who may not even like to write. His response: “Write what you care about. Trust your imagination.”
